I bet you had a disc in your drive?

Could be worse, you could be on 3.56, 3.60, 3.70, 4.00, 4.20, 4.21, 4.30 OFW

Lol, because you arent the first person to say "WTF i updated to X.XX CFW and now I'm on X.XX OFW WTF!"

At least your situation is fixable.

@wollongong have you got the pup as: usb:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP ?

@toolz you could always try installing rebug 999 downgrader then 3.55.3 and from there you should be able to go to whatever update

I'm hoping someone can answer this. If I am on 4.21 Rogero CFW and my ps3 is the slim without the 3.55 OFW on the hardware (it needed the usb stick for the update when I originally switched the drive), what do I need to do to replace the hard drive?

Will it be the same as before where I just put in the new drive, updated to OFW 3.55 when it asks for firmware and then go to Rogero from there, or will that be problematic because the system was at Rogero 4.21 before I replaced the hard drive?

Thanks in advance. I know this is a bit OT but this is probably the best place to get the answer.

I don`t think you can update version 4.30 v1.04 or downgrade keep getting error no applicable update data was found in recovery mode and not in recovery mode

Try @uberfucts method locate rebug 999 downgrader and follow the instructions.

REBUG ’999′ DOWNGRADER
THIS WILL SET YOUR SYSCON COREOS VERSION TO 9.99 ON PURPOSE: DO NOT PANIC

REQUIRES SYSCON DEHASHING AFTER DOWNGRADE
INSTALL:

From XMB install ’999′ DOWNGRADER over any firmware version CFW/MFW with spkg sig check patched on a PS3 with or without QA enabled.

UNINSTALL/DEHASH: REQUIRES PS3 TO BE QA ENABLED
From XMB ’999′ DOWNGRADER can be uninstalled/dehashed with the REBUG 3.55.3 REX EDITION or from Recovery Mode with any other 3.55 OFW/CFW/MFW.

Enjoy
