60Gb phat goes dead
Got a 60Gb in last week with YLOD, Reballed the RSX and tested it for 3 days, worked fine. Got it back yesterday with a power fault, press the power button and it just goes completly dead, then it won't show the green light for about 10 mins. Tried the power supply and its not that, any suggestions?

Reread your post. Try switching out various power mechanisms.

so, the 5V from the psu is still there when the ps3 looks dead?
did you tried the simple stuff allready? , removing hdd, removing bluray, unplug fan, you can even unplug the power/eject board and put a disc in to start the ps3.

Everything has been removed, just got the motherboard and power supply. There is a short circuit between the 2 main power prongs on the motherboard.

Found the fault, One of the big square diodes feeding the cell is short. Gonna replace it and hope there is no more damage
