Bought a Ps3 Fat with 3.60 and PKG Installer
Hi,
i bought a Ps3 fat and it got the Firmware 3.60. The funny thing is, it also got the PKG Installer. So tried to install Multiman which worked. but when i start it ill get a black screen. Does it mean that i got a retail 3.60 Firmware? How can i check it? System Informations says 3.60 only I hope you can understand it all. My english is not the best

so you have the "install package" and "app/home" icons under game...
maybe it was a spoof?, i never used any so i don't know if the spoofed firmware shows up under system info... there was never a 3.60 cfw i believe and it can't be retail 3.60 what you have... black screen is also caused if you jave a faulty bluray drive. |

ah yea i forgot the drive is broken. app_home is not there just the package installer.

Maybe it is old spoofed FW, (has it ever been downgraded? if you know it hasn't) I would try install OFW 3.55 from recovery, QA flag & update to Rogero v3.7 to see if at least app_home comes back.
I seem to remember reports of waninkoko/wutangrza CFW missing the app_home folder. EDIT: black screen could be faulty logic board.

Hi,
thanks for your answers. i updated it to 3.55 ofw. then rogero 3.55 with bdcheck off. the logic board is connected to the mainboard now. but i dont got a bddrive. Should it work without the bddrive and just the logic board connected? or do i need a bddrive? |

As long as a working, married logic board is connected it will work.
Some games require a disc in the drive to work. But there is a way to emulate a usb flash drive as a blu ray drive, with Rebug REX 3.55.3 or 4.21.1. So you can play all games discless. I followed this guide to achieve that on a CECHA01, that I only had a logic board connected.

Ty,
ill try that. edit: mhh seems there is something wrong with the connection to the logic board. cause i still get a black screen in multiman. the seller said its 100% the logic board of this ps3. is there a alternative way to find out if the logic board is working? edit2: got it working yay. im so thankful.
