Can you please help?
Hi all.
I am new to this and was hoping that someone could answer a couple of question i just havent been able to find definitive answer to. So thanks in advance. I have a slim PS3 happily puffing away under my tv. I also have a Fat PS3 which was out of action as the Blu Ray had stopped responding. I fished it out of the attic, DL CFW Kmeaw 3.55 and installed using a tutorial from this site. I also loaded MultiMan and got this running. Using the built in FTP I connected to the PS3 located the games folder(which was not in a LAUN12345 folder), and dragged across a copy of NFS Most wanted just to test if it worked correctly. It didn't. Am I missing something, additional PKG's? Does there need to be a disk in the drive(as this will of course be an issue)? Should I be messing/replacing the EBoot file? I don't want to use PSN, but should I be considering a different CFW? is the correct procedure to run a game, load game in MultiMan, PS3 drops out to XMB, on XMB there is no game cover, I then click on app_home/PS3_GAME, it looks as if it is about to start then crashes with an error message. I've read the tutorials and tried to locate the answer. But i thought i would cut to the chase and ask.. |

If you are on CFW 3.55 you need an eboot fix for NFSMW.
Also I would always have a disc in the drive (make sure it has FW update on it of UNDER 3.55 incase of accidental upgrade via disc/forgetting the disc is in there)

Thanks Defaultdnb.
Do you know if there is any why to run a back up without a disk in the drive. One of the reasons I JBed my PS3 was due to the BluRay drive no longer working. Is there an alternative CFW that doesn't require the BD Mirror boot up. |

Look here for games that don't need a disc.
If you use the latest multiMAN, it will ask you to fix the eboot.bin for you. You could also upgrade to REBUG REX and follow this guide, to make the PS3 think a usb flash drive is the blu ray drive. Or just replace the laser lens in the drive. Sounds like that may be the problem with your drive.

If you have a broken BD drive, CFW Rebug REX is the answer. since it partially CEX and DEX you can switch to DEX and play games with a broken BD drive.
