Hello Guys,
I just found this awesome Forum and thought that you guys could help me with my problem. Here my story: PS3 Slim 120GB model was updated to firmware 3.56 version 1 via the Internet update process. The update was completed successfully. I took my HDD out and then made the mistake of connecting it to my PC to run diagnostics before swapping in the new HDD. (Windows formatted the HDD) So there was nothing on the Drive (no OS). After putting in the old drive with nothing on it I was prompted to start the installation by pressing select and start buttons simultaneously. The installation process then reported back error 8002F225 data is corrupt. I tried downloading 3.56v1 again to a USB drive but nothing worked. Then Sony released 3.56v2. When I try to install this to the hdd I was again shown the error 8002F225 data is corrupt. My understanding is 3.56v2 will only fix the hdd upgrade issue present in 3.56v1 if the affected PS3 user has the original hdd with 3.56v1 installed. The user needs to re-insert the original hdd, upgrade to 3.56v2 and then proceed with installing new hdd with 3.56v2 on a usb drive. For users who no longer have the previous hdd with PS3 partition intact, firmware 3.56v2 will not fix the error 8002F225 data is corrupt issue encountered during hdd upgrade. So is there anything else what i can do ? Sony wants $150 for it BTW i have a new PS3 Super Slim 250GB maybe i can use the HDD to fix this ? Thanks in advance guys
