Ps3 slim with usb problem
Hello.
I just got a 120gb ps3 slim which has got a rather unusual problem. When I got the console, it was stuck on the "Please connect a controller through usb port" screen. However, the console would not sync any controllers through any of the ports. I tried with several different controllers and cables, but none of them worked. But, the usb ports are giving out a current, as I could charge my mobile phone through the usb ports with no problem When I looked at the bottom of the console, I saw that the warranty sticker had been removed. So I thought maybe the previous owner had tried to downgrade the console and perhaps he had connected a controller in the step where you are not supposed to connect a controller. Maybe this had somehow messed something up. I decided to connect my e3 flasher and try to downgrade the console myself. I made three good dumps and went through the downgrade proccess just fine. But, once I got to the step where you are supposed to enter a usb jig dongle to get into fsm, I cannot get any further. I have a e3 card reader. The e3 card reader lights up with a red led when it's getting power and a blue led when it's being read or written to. So when I connect the e3 card reader it lights up with a red led, but the blue led never starts blinking. So, it would seem that the usb ports on this console are getting power, however there doesn't seem to be any data signals going to the ports. Has anyone seen this kind of problem before? I've checked the board thouroughly for any damage, but there doesn't seem to be any. |
