phaty cleanup

I've got a CECHL04 fatty that's a couple of years old now and I'm thinking about taking it apart and cleaning it for dust and apply some new thermalpaste on it.
I'm skilled enough on the hardware front to do it I guess after watching some videos on how its done. I've built several computers from scratch.

Is there anything special I should watch out for?
Is there some common error first timers do that I should be aware of?

Any suggestions on the matter is greatly appreciated.

So you saying I should use caution when removing the heat-sink from the mobo?
Roger that.
I've seen on some of the videos that the old thermal paste can stick a bit and in so making it a bit tricky to remove it.
I'll take my time and I'll be careful to not bend anything while I'm in there.
Thanks for your time and answer Sarah1331.
