Playing PAL backups on NTSC PS3 with Kmeaw 3.55
I'm quite new to the PS3 scene, although not to the hacking community. I've had extensive runs with the PSP and Wii scenes, so I have my bearings about me. I don't know if this has been asked, and if so, please direct me to it, as I couldn't find anything. But, is it possible for me to play PAL/EUR backups on my NTSC jailbroken PS3? Any help will be greatly appreciated. ^_^

PS3 games are region free. Even though there are different region games, they will all work on any PS3.

region free, but some games do have unchangable languages. IE Japanese

As others have pointed out, PS3 games are region free but you haven't specified what backups you plan to play on your PS3 so just in case, remember that PS1/PS2 games are not region free.

Thank you for all of the replies! I heard that they are region free, and yes, it will be ps3 backups. One last question. Will the PAL video be compatible? Or is there a setting in MultiMan to force NTSC video?

It depends on how you are connecting to your tv? If you are using HDMI or Component I don't think it matters as these connections don't really use pal or ntsc its more to do with the frame rate.
But if you are using the standard cables scart, composite or s-video then the system will output what the source is pal or ntsc. Most modern tvs can handle pal or ntsc I think. |

Well, with my Wii, when I played PAL backups I had to force NTSC or it would be black and white on my TV. So, I want to know if I can force NTSC with MultiMAN, or if I need to.

Like stated above it doesn't matter when using hdtv cables, like component or hdmi.
