Downgrade Idea
I dont remember who did it, but i guess a few weeks ago some1 figured out how to change the firmware update to a lower firmware. Well my idea was that how bout you do the same thing, but in the PS3 Update file (Firmware UNDER 2.30) change the text to 2.35 since its out now so then it would update it to 2.35, but not all the features will be in it. Only the features we updated it too. Who thinks itll work?

Already been tried before, will not work as the PS3 checks the package for the hash and if it doesn't match it will refuse to use it.

Can't really change a hash code, the hash code is basically a code of how the file was originally structured. Changing just one bit in the code can alter the hash code dramatically.

you can't do anything with a file that has hashes to check and make sure they are the original file. the only way you could do something is if you are on the sony side of the network.

Well thats usefull info. I was thinking of using the unpacker to take apart the pup. and rename a few files with in the .bin for my ps3 40 gig to attempt to install the ps2 emu, guess this scratches that off.
As the update is for all units in the bin 1 is for the 80 gig, then i wish i knew to to reverse instead of unpacking packing it back into the pup. |
