Question about XMB vs multiman

Just curious if the XMB system settings trump the multiman settings. In MM i had the auto off feature turned to disabled, but in XMB, the auto off was set to two hours. Naturally, during a ftp transfer on the very last file that was 12gb large, the very last few minutes, it shut off.

I know it was not heat or YLOD because it came right back on and is still on to this moment.

I have herd that doing large files can cause ylod, I would suggest if there was a way you could transfer viauUSB it would be safer.
