You are not doing what I said. When u install a firmware in factory/service mode, you will not see a %. It is all blind.
Use the app to toggle fsm.
Put lv2diag.self and PS3UPDAT.PUP ( http://www.mediafire.com/?v8vs6j6z20...9t8388g78mdps7) on the root, by themselves, remember to rename pup file.
Plug usb drive in the right usb port.
Power on ps3 and wait.
The screen will be black, and it should take about 4 or 5 minutes until your ps3 shuts off automatically.
Then put erase the files from usb on pc, and put the exit lv2diag.self (http://www.mediafire.com/?07is2miyyofi6sf) by it by itself.
Power on ps3 and wait. Ps3 will shut off by itself in about 30 seconds.
Power on ps3 and follow on screen instructions to set date, time, etc....

If that fails, take the log file from the usb drive and post it here.

Am i using the exit.self? The one that was created on my usb when i went into fsm? If so it jus exits fsm and restarts the ps3. Ok i was usi g the wrong self. The link to the right one dont seem to be working.
