Multiman/games causing loud noise.
Hello all, I have a weird issue that the forums only seem to have one similar issue that was unanswered so I hope you can help.
Since yesterday every time I boot up multiman it gives me a loud, constant buzzing noise. This follows me into games as well, and it also happens in between the launch of certain homebrew, such as snes9x. I'm on rogero cfw 4.30, using multiman 4.30.00, and the only thing that's happened since now and then is backing up dragons dogma: dark arisen onto my ps3 and setting to permission to play on 4.30. When I did that is when I actually noticed the buzzing noise, and have no idea if it was going before then or not. If you need any more info I'll try to help where I can, but I would be grateful if someone could help me out on this. |

Yeah that's the noise. I dont have any externals plugged in, I can try replugging all the cables though but I'm not sure that that will fix it, I'll give it a try soon.
update: Unplugged everything and replugged, issue is still there, no USB or any other things attached still. Upon launching it's still a loud clicking buzzing noise and it's very loud. Last edited by Selic; 2 Weeks Ago at 02:39 PM. |

It's not the PS3 itself making the noise, it's coming through the speakers. If the magnets will cause this I'll check into it, but I'm not sure if you were confused about where the noise was coming from, my apologies.
Update: Ran the game discless, still the same buzzing/clicking noise coming through the speakers as before. It seems to get worse when other sounds should start playing(multiman menu clicks, game music). These are the only times these noises are present too, otherwise the sound from the PS3 sounds just fine. Last edited by Selic; 2 Weeks Ago at 04:45 PM. |

I forgot to mention, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled multiman, with the newest update as well, and it still did not fix anything. Along with that I also removed the start up sound file and it's not changed anything.
There is a video on youtube detailing the same sounds, but at a different time then mine(his is on xmb, mine is MM menu and in game only as of right now). The name of the video is "PS3 multiman noise problems" if you want to take a look. Also, PSN games do not cause this sound issue. |

Ok, try a different HDMI port on your TV if you have another one. Unplug everything else but the PS3. Try another HDMI cable also, or component cables. Also can try overriding the automatic audio settings on PS3, try all the different audio settings.

Install multiman 04.30.00 BASE, then install multiman 04.40.00.
I would also update to Rogero 4.40 v1.03 or REBUG 4.41.2. Like already state above though, it is a bug in old version of mm.
