Sony Funding FuturLab PlayStation Vita Titles

The Brighton-based FuturLab is being funded by Sony to develop games for the PlayStation Vita. FuturLab developed the PS Mini title Velocity. The deal will last for one year and FuturLab will keep any new IPs it may create over the following year.

"We're particularly pleased to be working with FuturLab to bring new and exciting games to PlayStation Vita," said Shahid Ahmad, Sony's senior business development manager. "FuturLab has a unique and fun approach to entertainment and we see their games as being a fantastic addition to the ever growing catalogue of PlayStation Vita games"

"FuturLab caught the spotlight earlier this year when their self published PlayStation Minis title Velocity earned critical acclaim, and has since been part of the PlayStation Mobile launch line up with a trio of mobile titles," Ahmad continued.

"We're incredibly excited to be working closely with PlayStation over the next year, bringing our particular brand of twitchy fun to the PlayStation Vita," managing director James Marsden said. "Sony has provided a great package that means we retain full control of our IP, which is a perfect deal for us."

FuturLab has developed other titles including Beats Slider, Fuel Tiracas and Surge. All of these titles are for the PlayStation Mobile.

Sony's trying to cater for the cheapass gamer that likes small cheap games like what ya play on mobiles/tablets for a couple of quid each.

Ther are a few mini's that are cool, and are very adictive and cheap.
