Very quick question re: PS3 on fw 3.50
Hi guys, thanks for reading
To my surprise the PS3 I bought just over a year ago as a back-up for my fat 60gb has fw 3.50. I assumed as it was a new 320gb Slim it would be 4.00+ I now want to get CFW - something I wanted with my 60gb but couldnt do because I updated to 4.00 Is there any BENEFIT of keeping it on 3.50 at all? Or shall I just upgrade to 3.55 and go from there? I've been reading the tuts but some of them are a bit old and I'm wondering if anything has changed since they were written Just wanted to ask before I updated. Thanks for any responses felix |

Upgrade to 3.55 and then follow the steps for rogero cfw, 3.50 has no use and you can downgrade again with software if you ever need to

Thanks guys, thats all I wanted to know - whether or not 3.50 has any use in itself..
One more thing. My PS3 60gb is still on 4.00 - I always wanted my 60gb to be my CFW model, can that be downgraded at all? Will it have to be hardware flashed (which I have NO idea how to even start doing) Asking because I've not been on PSN in over a year and I wanted to updrade ONE of them tonight to 4.31 so I can go online! |

Yours is downgradeable. Min Praxis means the lowest fw you can put on the chip.

Thanks again.. any links to about downgrading my 4.00 60gb I can read?
I installed 3.55 on my Slim and am currently downloading Rogero CFW 4.30 V2.0 - can I install this directly on to 3.55? So many tutorials out there I'm getting confused.. maybe watching one in german on youtube has thrown me a bit! Thanks a million

Do it from the recov menu then install rogero 4.30 v2.03 in recov menu aswell. For your 4.00 you need a flasher - http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Hardware_flashing |

Thanks man. I'm gonna look into flashing 4.00 once I can figure out how to get CFW on my 3.55.
I know it should be easy enough, but there are so many tutorials but can't seem to find one to tell me how to go from: 3.55 > Rogero 4.30 v2.03 Also, keep reading about "make sure you NOR/Nand dump using multiMAN" but which I'm guessing is a step I need to take IN BETWEEN getting from 3.55 to Rogero 4.30 Confused! |
