ofw and black ops 2
ok my issue is that my ps3 will not read the disc!!! it will read any other game 1st time but when i put in blops 2 it spins ,i get the spinning disc in top coner of the screen then it semi ejects then trys to load it again.... ive took my ps3 apart thinking it was maybe dust but no it wasnt and my blops disc mint and works in my cfw ps3... any ideas of a fix or whats wrong ??? i cant see it being the laser as all my other games ,blue rays, dvds works 1st time thanks for any help

Try a quick format, if no luck try a full format.
If the above fails then try some of the options in recovery menu |

sorry to sound noob but how do i quick format? ive done the file system bit that comes up if the ps3 is turned off wrong from recovery think it was option 2 or 3

Formatting won't fix the problem, I wouldn't bother with that if I were you.
The drive is struggling to read the disc, have you tried cleaning it of any finger prints/smudges? Try putting in another Blu-ray disc first then after it's read eject it and try Black Ops 2 again. |

In that case I'm not really sure what to suggest, it is definitely a problem with the drive reading the disc though. I've had the same problem with burnt DVD's in the past so it must be the drive having difficulty reading the data.
EDIT: Whatever position the PS3 is in, reverse it. So if you normally keep your PS3 horizontal, try standing it up vertically and trying again, or vica versa. See if that helps. Last edited by djhazardous; 12-16-2012 at 05:21 PM. |

i have in flat but have tested in both , even upside down at 1 point hahaha it reads now and then like just now it worked for a few games crashed then back to not reading for the next few days

Drive is on its way out mate. Be thankful it still reads the majority of games. Mine came back from a downgrade on this forum and now the drive does not work at all. I am forced to play games that only work discless.

You lost bd playback, that can be restored.. your drive is fine.
