Hi all,

I buy and sell consoles and have recently got 2 in stock with 3.50 ofw. I sold 1 on here and kept 1 for myself to see what all the fuss is about.

I have updated to 3.55 ofw and then jailbroke it using kmeaw and have installed the multiman package and it all seems to be working as it should but this is as far as I have got.

What exactly can I do on this and why is it so desired? I have tried searching google but can not find any noob friendly explanations so any help would be greatly appreciated?

Well, 3.55 OFW or lower OFW ps3 consoles are so desired because these are the only consoles that can currently be modified to use Homebrew aplications and play backup games, that is to say, even though there are 4.21 and 4.3 CFW now, you can't normally go from a 3.56+ OFW to 4.21 or 4.3 CFW, only from 3.55 or lower can you go to the more advanced CFWs, while the newer consoles are stuck to use only OFW and no homebrew.

On top of that 3.55 OFW consoles can be downgraded to lower OFW so you can have access to Linux OS platform and other fun stuff such as PSL1ght, homebrew games and software, etc.

Other than that, there must be a lot of stuff that more experienced people can tell you.

Use showtime to play movies from allmost any format including mkv.
And run homebrews like emulators and many others.
