E3 Flasher Clip LED

Just curious if anyone has thought up of a way to to setup some kind of LED system that would light up once the clip was properly placed over the chip. It doesn't seem like an easy task, but it would make downgrading a lot faster; especially fitting the clip.

How would one go about doing something like this? thanks in advance.

if the clips seated the front board lights up if it's not seated then theres no power

doubt anyone is going to waste there time with leds on the actual clip as it's user error

i can downgrade phats and slims within a hour now, it's not hard once you've got the technique right

The front of the board will light up if the right side of the clip is connected and not the left. So that really isn't a proper way to gauge if the clips is seated properly or not. I don't think it's a waste of time as seeing the LEDs light up would ensure the clip is seated perfectly. Especially on phats when having to put it back together.

What i would like to know is, what kind of LED could i use and would i need some kind of volt regulator for the them..

Wrong

The clip makes the E3 light up when the 3.3v pin is attached. It does not mean anything is seated perfectly, even the 3.3v.

You don't have to reassemble any ps3 whilst using the E3.

You don't know what a voltage regulator is and what it does.

Everything you have said is completely wrong/stupid.

Have a nice day!

Try it. Only attached the right side of the clip to the NOR pins and the front of the board will light up. Not wrong.

I know you don't have to assemble the ps3 whilst using the e3, but that's not the point here. The point is to setup some kind of LED system whereas once all the pins are properly seated it will light up.

The voltage regulator would be for the additional LEDs so as not to pull to much power from the ps3...

I didn't say anything wrong/stupid here. This thread is totally going off-topic....

you'd just end up wasting a lot of time and possibly money on trying this out, none of the solderless adapters have this including progskeet teensy etc

Right, they also don't come with quick solder boards either. However that hasn't stopped (can't remember his name) from creating his own. I'm simply asking for help/ideas on how to build something like this.

You're still wrong/stupid.

I think I know more about the E3 than you do.

If you want to wire up each pin to a continuity detector of sort that runs to an individual LED because you don't know how to clip - then go for it.

I personally just clip it once, downgrade and move on.

Sure, you might know about the E3 more than I do, but I'm still right about the lights lighting up. You only need to attach one side to the NOR, not all the pins need to touching for that to happen.

As for the individual LEDs, it's a mod. I thought it would be a good idea. I can clip it just fine. That's great that you can clip it once, downgrade and move on... Not everyone is so lucky.

You shouldn't call people stupid. Especially those that follower and appreciate your work. You're coming across as an arrogate SOB. I'm simply asking for help/idea on how to build this thing. I don't want to go back and forth with the insults, etc.

I'll bet that's what this guy thought, and now he's perma-bricked.
