Seems like the life or death of the scene would depend on if the Ps3 is truly hacked or not. Yes the scene has made great progress lately but it has not got over 3.55 really. Yes there is 4.30 cfw but you have to be able downgrade or already be on 3.55 to get to 4.30. The rest of the people stuck on 4.30ofw are screwed and that's the problem because there are way more of them than people that have a hacked system. I myself have found myself in the same problem. After a ylod on my system 2 times. So now I know how they feel. Most people don't care about other people issues until they get place in the same one. It is what it is. At least I got my hacked wii u lol. Only time will tell if the scene lives or dies but I think it will all depend on a cfw for 4.30 with downgrading or flashers.

nah, it wont die. i still use my xbox classic. in fact the coinops project was toying with the idea of shifting system from the old xbox and some members of their forum were suggesting ps3 as a new platform

It's like the PSP scene is yet to die. How many times did you hear people saying "PSP scene is dead" even before the Vita? Vita is out, and there is STILL good homebrew coming out for the PSP.

Fact is, PSP scene still has a lot of life left in it, and the PS3 has had a similar "stump" to what the PSP did, when the newer PSP 2k/3k models first came out, which could not support a pandora battery, DarkAlex was gone, a lot of the devs had vanished and people thought the PSP would never be jailbroken again... But look at it now you have Pro CFW/HEN, you have ME CFW/HEN and all current models of the PSP can have some form of jailbreak on them.

PS3 is going through the same thing.. sure if your OFW for now, you cannot put a CFW/HEN on it, but you will be able to one day in the future, it may take some time, but it will be possible one day mark my words :-)

So will the PS3 scene die when PS4 is out? NO.

For me it's all I want

It has a good graphic, i don't want/need better graphics than this and the games are awesome.
And the exclusives ....

And Why is Sony so dumb of hacking ?? No one with new ps3 can play torrents games !! Only the olds ps3 and so there is no Big Hacking for Playstation 3 like it was for PSP ... So Sony NO REASON TO ABANDON THE PS3 SUPPORT AFTER PS4 IS RELEASED !!!

The PS3 scene just began a new life CFW 421 / 430.I doubt we will ever see a CFW on PS4 until then PS3 or F0R3V3R. The awesomeness of the PS3 & scene with 1000s of playable games. Tons of excellent tools, HB Apps ,CFW's ++ (The PS3 scene is *PS3 FREEDOM* what more could we want .?) A PS4 restricted to shlit ? with muted playback of are own dvd rips & backups = No MP4/MKV/AVI/M4V = Negative the PS4 will be infected with (cinavia).

There is no awesomeness in restricted OFW & Sony will defiantly spam the PS4 XMB with advertisement. I may buy one ,ONLY cause i pray it gets hacked like PS3. So i will hold on to it for that reason + certain games i will need if they don't offer it for PS3..

I hope they will continue to make PS3 games ,cause if they do not that is a straight up marketing strategy to force people to go out & buy a PS4 .It would be morally wrong to not support the PS3 on the PSN network. I know i will always be around here for the PS3 scene to help others. I am not going nowhere i hope others stay also ,there is no reason not to the PS3 has so much potential still . Like i did say many times people are still in the PSP scene & alive.

PS3 scene is not dead from a long shot (touch wood) it just got hacked 2 years ago we still need to fully blow open the systems potential a fully functional N64 emulator would be epic :D the ps3 is also hard to develop for even leading devs have problems. The xbox360 scene also nearly died when JTAG got patched you had to run through a bunch of hoops to get DLC and such but then RGH came out and completely revived the entire scene games would get leaked early every DLC and game. it 2 years or so I think for RGH to come out. Thing is microsoft would not sue people like C4EVA because they know modders will still buy the system for piracy but fony get mad and started suing everyone in reach and know look at there financial status? they cant blame piracy now they never tried suing any one when PS2 was hacked and look how well that sold and it was also one of the biggest pirated systems of all time apart from the DS and a few others. ps4 games will be tied to 1 psn account so no one else can use the game again killing the 2nd hand game market? and such a tight security that no one can crack? homebrew devs or people who want homebrew or people who want to pirate will simply just go and buy a xbox720 or wii U or just stick with a gaming pc.

There really haven't been great "scenes" since psp, the original xbox and in part the Wii. Oh the neverending flow of emulator, homebrew games, ports and the birth of xbmc. I am not blaming anyone for this, but that's just what I think.

Today it is too cumbersome to keep up and stuff really doesn't happen. Look at the Xbox360 scene - emulators are made proof-of-concept-style, but never polished like in times of old. The Freestyle dash is at last almost quasistable now in the twilight years of the xbox and so on an so forth.

It will never be the same, but a few enthusiasts will probably keep at it for a little while.
