Yeah, welcome. Unfortunately the super slims are not hackable, and same goes for certain slims from what I understand.

I got lucky and was given my bros 2008 YLOD 2008 80gb phat.

I reflowed it and upgraded to a 320gb drive and am currently awaiting the next big breakthrough if it ever comes.

I suggest looking for an older PS3, if they don't YLOD on you they are the best most feature rich models to have.

Heck, you can get YLOD phats on Ebay for $60 and get them fixed for reasonably affordable.

NOBODY knows when the A cfw 4.31 release to install on 4.++ OFW and i dont know if it possible to get the Private keys.

But when your PS3 is downgradable You can buy a e3 Flasher.

I don't know about the firmware you are referring to but I'll tell you that what ever it is, it will not be able to update straight from OFW. At least without first downgrading to 3.55 first.
