After HDD swap error 8002f157. Please help!
looks like my ps3 is all screwed up after I swapped my original 80gb with a 500gb hdd and installed rogero 4.30 v2.03 (this was originally installed) after copying all the games into the ps3 hdd, nothing was working as in I would get black screen loading anything like multiman, toggle qa, etc....inserted a disk and it wont show up. Used the 4.25->3.55 rogero to downgrade but after that I get error code that file is corrupted 8002f157. Can't load anything either as before such as toggle_QA or MM. When I insert a game, that doesnt show up under games either. I can get into XMB and recovery mode, but not able to update to anything. Is it safe to assume, it's screwed pretty much or there's something I am missing? I tried to put the old hdd back in, same thing, even though it's not formated and everything is same as before I took it out.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate it! ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* ok this is all weird. At the time of the hdd swap, I opened the ps3 to just dust it out and i figured I may just open it and see if anything is loose. Nothing was loose and the ps3 turned on by itself and wolla, all working and upgraded the ps3 just fine now, but issue is now that after the format, the ps3 only see's 80gb and not the full 500gb....what gives. I know it's fat32, but.... Fixed the issue with a format. Last edited by ssjbrolly; 12-16-2012 at 10:32 PM. |

Are you sure you didn't put the 80gb hdd back in?
And the PS3 hdd is not FAT32 Also to save you trouble in future, if you had read the changelog on Rogero 4.30 v2.03, there was no reason to downgrade to install a new hdd. |

@ssjbrolly
please report ASAP (As soon as possible) what

Since if your HDD is on FAT32 you need to change to NTFS.

Well everything is in working order now and enjoying the larger drive. Yes I did not put in that 80gb back in again. I have never had hardware problems/glitches before, but all in all it was very interesting.
I was on 4.30 v2.03 and was aware of the HDD swap which is why I waited until this patch was released. But after the swap, I just installed the rogero 2.03 again and after transferring all the games I backed up into the external into the newly installed 500gb something went wrong probably. When all transfer was done, I tried to get into Multiman and I was just getting black screen. Tried several times and same issue. So I reinstalled rogero 2.03 again and same issue. That is when I downgraded and when that went through, I was having all that issues where I wasn't able to reinstall anything again to get back to 4.30 v2.03. Prior to the HDD swap, I opened the top of PS3 and aired the entire system out of all dust then changed the hdd. I think I might of tightened the screwed too much and might of grounded something? but I doubt that. Either way after all that mess, I was thinking maybe during the air out something got loose, so I opened it up again and my finger accidentally hit the power button and wollla it started installing 3.55 v3.7 needed to get back to 4.21 then 4.30. As far as Fat32 and NTFS. I formated the HDD in my PC with FAT32 pior to installation, but the HDD size wasn't an issue. After everything was working fine as a test. I had the PS3 fully format the HDD and that solved the problem. I was seeing the rest of the 500gb vs only 80gb. Everything is working as it should. Thank you guys and sorry for late response. Just got done with finals and what not. |
