The game worked fine on 3.55 with the journal fix and Eboot. To get the game to work on 4.3 I deleted the game data and installed updates. The game loads fine but locks up when the journal is selected. Has anyone got it to work on 4.3?

If I back it up again without making any changes would that work? It is a huge game and if I did not have to do that again that would save a lot of time.

The game works fine.

You're playing the pirated DUPLEX release that was fixed for 3.55.

"Buy" another copy that hasn't been fixed for 3.55.

This isn't true for me. I have the game on disc retail and a backup to external the game freezes at the spinning ring. This is on Rogero 4.30 v2.03. MM 4.14.4.

Someone on another forum said I need to apply the 3.55 hacks but I don't know why if I'm on 4.30. I assume it's just an external thing but nobody can seem to confirm that.

im Actually trying to get this game to work on my ps3 currently!

Im in the same situation as bobross, retail disc, and spinning ring problem. I can't get Uncharted 2 to work either as that one is stuck with the spinning dagger.

to play from external i think u have to extract the large .psarc files. did u do that?

Before installing stealth multiman and even 4.30 CFW, I was able to play it without extracting the psarc files before.

EDIT: well im trying out the psarc.exe extraction, will update when im done.

Yes, that's because you're running it from external and I'm pretty certain there are 4GB+ files so it will only work from internal.

That would be because you were playing the Duplex version cracked for 3.55 I would expect as if it works fully then the psarc files in that release are smaller than 4GB, if it wasn't because of that then it is simply that it would crash at the point where those 4GB+ files are accessed.

See above.

The game works fine as long as....

1. Run from internal.
2. Ripped from retail disk.

If you're rip isn't working it's because you are...

1. Not running from external.
2. Running the Duplex pirate version that was fixed for 3.55
3. Have extracted psarc archive and this game may/may not work doing that.
4. Have truncated the rip by ripping to external then placing on external and expecting it to work.
5. Combination of above.


If you rip directly to internal from a genuine disk, or FTP over a genuine rip that hasn't been fixed for 3.55 to the internal drive it will work.

No I wasn't using a pirated DUPLEX version, I was using the actual original disc and backed it up into the harddrive. (I would NOT download 30-40 F,FIN GB of a SINGLE game) and it worked when I was on 3.55 and one time on 4.30 when I was updating all my games and putting in the original eboots.

what I did before in kmeaw was just switching to hermes and copied from disc to my external harddrive, and using a fixed 3.60 pkg for 3.55 and it worked right off the bat.
