the originals are, but the fixed ones are technically not as they have been decrypted, fixed, and re-encrypted
************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I have tried that edat thing on Ps3tools but it just shuts down the program everytime I try, tried using the new rif to rap tool released but that does nothing. I have my act.dat file, a original rif and my nor flash.bin ( which I extracted the IDPS but apparently it dont wanna work ) Then again I might have got my IDPS wrong.

I'm using the tools from
@snowydew
, pretty sure ps3tools was made by someone else. It says the edat can be decrypted with just the 1) .rap, 2) or the idps, rif, and act.dat. I don't have any of the above. Tomorrow after work I'm going to try to gather everything and see if I can help. Thank you for the idea, got something to do for the winter.

that edat decrypter / encrypter released by snowy and the others is only for PSX titles bud ^_^

All it is missing is the klicense section for psn titles. I downloaded the sources to try to mod the program a lil bit, but it's written in java and c#. I've been thinking either brush up on my java, or port it with a language I know.

There are several "PS3 tools" some are from f0f and some actually have the name in their application likes PsDevs PS3Tools GUI. PsDevs tools were written in C#.
Edit: Some of the features in his program were even ported over from C or C++.
