Question How to fix a blu-ray clip on your ps3

I have a friend that broke his clip from the main board off for the dvd drive . he want me to fix it . Is there a way to do that ???

Is it the clip that take he ribbon or the power ? If it's the ribbon you may be able to tape the ribbon into the clip carefully. I have done this before on laptops after some arse hole tried a simple repair but bodged it on the first attempt. But also saying that there is a lot more heat generated from a ps3 than a lappy so choice of tape is a must (not cello tape!!). Worth as shot tho

I said it was the clip itself that holds the ribbon in. I want to find a source of the clips to solder the new one on it.

Ok let me put this in plain English.

Your gonna struggle to find replacement clips, either buy a second hand machine and try to remove the part with out breaking it, good luck with that as the clips are really poorly made, Or try the repair I mentioned.

So basically 12 months have past and the same advice given, coincidence ?

Why is it when people make a hash of things they blame a friend or say they bought it like that ?

Well, you never know do you?

Anyway... Use that silver car tape. It's pretty strong and holds the ribbon in place for a long time.

If you near Reading UK i can fix it for you for £10

You can remove off a old board but you must be v skilled I have done one before
