Multiman or BD drive problem?
I did the following on my PS3 FAT CECHE01:
1) Updated to OFW 3.55 2) Installed Rogero CEX 4.30 v2.03 3) Installed Multiman v4.17 CEX base I start up my PS3 and it shows Rogero on the start screen. I can start Multiman and put a game in the drive. I then select copy game to hard drive (internal). It starts the copy and then fails part way through. I tried another game and it said copy not allowed. I have now tried several games and either I get a failure part way through or a not allowed message. Did I miss a step in my install, am I doing something wrong in Multiman or is there a problem with my Bluray drive? |

What I do is install multiMAN 04.14.00 Full. Then install 04.17.00 base. Then update to the latest.
I would like to skip a step, but haven't been able to find 04.17.00 full. Not sure if that will even help you. It sounds like your discs are dirty or scratched. Or could be your laser is dirty, or starting to fail.

The discs don't have scratches but the laser may be dirty.
I ran my DVD/CD cleaner through and I was able to get to 86% on a game copy. Thanks for the idea Playerkp420. UPDATE#1: I tried another cleaning and even tried the Iris backup manager. Same issues in that it gets most of the way through the copy and then fails. I have a feeling the bluray drive is the issue. Not sure why it can get 80-90% copied then fails. UPDATE#2 I copied files to a USB stick then installed on the PS3 and that seemed to work. So it looks like either the bluray is having issues or running the bluray for a long time to do a rip is causing an issue. Is there a tool to verify if the bluray is having problems? UPDATE#3 I ran a PS3 bluray cleaner and it did register the bluray faster but still at 90% the copy failed. Suspecting I have a bluray heating issue or something. Everything else seems to work....
