I Tried to flash it using Debug 2.20 via the hdd swap method, got to the installation phase, but wouldn't install was stuck at 0% for over 10minutes.
I then powered my ps3 off turned it back on and got a blue screen, inserted the other hdd in, and prompted to flash to version 2.30 retail, I cancelled that system restarted and blue screen again and turned itself off, that’s what is happening now turn it on 10seconds later it turns itself off and no video output. I no longer can turn the ps3 on with the joy pad, it will not even sync to the system the brief time it’s on.

If anyone knows a way to recover from this it would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the blue screen as well after an error during install, and I never managed to boot the PS3 with that hard drive in. So try formatting the hdd in a PC to remove any ps3 data there and then put it back in again see if it works...

Thanks for the advice.

I've tried that, as well as two other hdd's. I've also tried without a hdd in, and same thing happens turn ps3 on, and 10seconds later it turns it self off, no video signal.

One thing I have also noticed is that usb is not working. I have plugged the controller in via usb, and pressing the ps button will not turn the system on

I think the PS3 may be FUBAR.
