e3 Flasher bad dump reads now no video

I have a CECHK01
4.11 OFW
It was (is?) RSOD
Never been downgraded
I have searched here and other forums, Google and the wiki to no avail.

The console had RSOD when I got it. It would go in to recovery mode. I did not try to update the firmware as that did not fix the last RSOD.
I think the red screen might have been caused by overheating as the console looked like a rats nest inside. None the less.....

I hooked up the e3 flasher to get a dump of the NOR to see if the problem can be fixed.

NOTE: I am trying to fix the RSOD without doing a downgrade as to salvage the data.

First problem is that I have pulled 20+ dumps and not 1 is good. I have re installed the flasher countless times and have also soldered to the NOR with the e3 linker. Still no good dumps.
Flashing anything without a good dump would be foolish so NO never tried to flash.

Second problem is after the first dump the console lost video and HDD activity but stays on so it is not a brick. It can not go to recovery mode either.

I have since removed the e3 and put everything back together and still no video or HDD activity and no recovery mode.

I would appreciate any help I can get at the moment. This is not my first time with the e3, I have fixed one RSOD on 4.31 (with help) and done a 4.31 to 3.55 downgrade.

Why the e3 can't take a good dump on this console?
How to get video back?

i just wondered if it was a hardware issue, if so this would mean that you won't measure 5V on the drive's power cable.
that the drive still ejects means nothing, it uses 12V for those functions.

it won't hurt to check the 5V at the cable.

1. black =12V
2. grey =ground
3. grey =ground
4. grey =5V

it's probably something else, but you got to start somewhere.

You saying bad dumps and was a red screen when you got it.
Maybe the dumps are good but read bad as the firmware is below 3.7

I did dumps on a friends ps3 and they were the first time BAD!
But i realized he was on 3.56! That was why - up to 3.70 and perfect!

Just a suggestion as to why your dumps might be bad....

I ordered new e3 ribbon. Will see if it is a bad NOR clip. If that is not the problem I'll try updating I guess but hard to do if no USB and no recovery menu.

EDIT: I have checked the voltages as advised and I get 5v and 12v at the drive like Mr. Dutch pointed out.

EDIT 2: So I have soldered the linker to the mobo and tried to get a dump. Now get 10001100 verified all solder connections and tried to get dump from e3 NOR. The e3 gives me 10000100 while trying to get dump from onboard NOR. How can I tell if the flasher has gone bad?
I have checked all resistors and fuses on the flasher and all seem to be good.

When I took the first dump I think the esata station was not powered on. Does anyone know if that will cause a problem with the video, hdd, and usb?
I would think that a reboot of the system would have reset it all anyway.

Could anyone shed some light on why the system will loose video, hdd, and usb when the e3 falsher is hooked up to the console. Also any ideas how to fix it without having any good dumps?
