Hello all,
Being that its my first post (for all intents and purposes of this site, i am a NOOB), so insert NOOB jokes and lets get on with my post. LOL

I have been a regular visitor of this website for some time now. Never having the want or need to mod my PS3, i never had the need to register. That has all changed recently. After about 12+ YLOD of death failures, each time reflowing and two blu ray lens failures, each time replacing (first time done by sony). My PS3 was on its last leg. Being that a bought the PS3 during launch ($700) and first lens replacement after warrenty ($150), I refused to give sony any more of my money for the simple fact that i knew a another failure was right around the corner. My current girlfriend has given me a new PS3 for Christmas. I have set my sights on my old PS3 that i kept bringing back to life as my new project/build.

My project PS3 specs are listed below:
Fat 80 gig PS3
Model: CECHExx
NAND Chip
Current OEM firmware: latest (4.31 i believe)

I have been wanting to downgrade my PS3 so I can utilize it for my proposed build (more info later i you are interested). I plan on using baileyscream's guide to do this. I have been tryin to find Progskeet 1.1 in order to downgrade. However as you all know, they are sold out everywhere. Will Progskeet 1.2 work for this application? Anyone have success with Progskeet 1.2 for this type of application? I already know there are some issues out there with Progskeet 1.2. Or can anyone recommend another flasher to do the trick?

broo progskeet 1.2 has no working "bitstream" but @underwurlde has made a project to fix the 1.2 progskeet ..
the project was named progskeet phonix it's a board that needs to be solderd on some point on the progskeet 1.2 so u can turn it to 1.1 ..
only few lucky users reported that thier progskeet 1.2 works only on NAND chips ..
even though @imyourpapi it's not tested yet wait till Andy aka underwurlde announce some info's about progskeet phonix boards..
there is InFeCtUs programmer but it's incredibly slow when it come to ps3's NANDs anw if u have any question feel free to ask . and tc

progskeet 1.2 will work for reading and flashing nand chips. Gimme 5 mins while I find the thread confirming this.

yes . but would u take the chance and let him buy the 1.2 ? so he could risk it ? or he should wait ?

They STILL sell those?!?

BE WARNED: Cheap because product is DEAD. Website is DEAD (check those product 'links' on MrModChip as posted by Mistawes). Good luck therefore finding any software for this / getting it to work. I speak from bitter experience.

well guys, after doing a little research i managed to track down down a progskeet v1.1. I think i will purchase this, the infectus,the 360 clip, all the wiring, and the nand chip y-adapter. I believe this is all i need to do my downgrade (correct me if im wrong). I will post if i have any problems etc during my downgrade. Thanks
