When are people/parents going to stop blaming movies, music, video games, books, etc & start realizing/owning up to the fact that what they really need to do is to just start taking an active role in the raising of there own children

My parents never told what to watch or what games to play. In fact, I've always enjoyed Clint Eastwood's movies with my dad when I was a kid, and they bought me some Mortal Kombat games.
Back then I was about 5 or 6 years and I'm not violent nor I'm walking on the street ripping off somebody's arms or legs. Nor I take over someone's car like you do in any GTA game. Really, they blame something else to cover their own failures as parents. You think violent games could corrupt your children?, then don't buy them Call of Duty, Battlfield, Hitman, GTA, Gears of War, Halo, Dead Space, Dark Soul, Metal Gear Solid, Mario games (because nobody cares about Kupa's feelings, Mario is a scumbag killer). As children don't work, how do they get the money to buy these kind of games?. Savings?, seems good to me, but they have to go to the store with an adult (as kids must not be street alone, it's dangerous). When they reach for the store, the adult doesn't say anything to the kid buying a Mature rated game?, doesn't forbid it?. Going with the same arguments, does this mean that dirty and pornographic magazines make our children excelent sexual performers?, do they know every part of the body's name?, do they immediately know what f***ing means?. Also, what about the TV shows?, I've seen mature an restricted content on cartoon's prime time. Yet the kinds what these contents but parents don't say a word. It's everybody's and everything's fault, except me... |

grew up with mortal kombat - tekken -gta -doom syphon filter ect.
but i never hurt any1 or robbed or committed a crime but when i was bad or didn't listen i would get 1 smack and it was done i would listen in a second now a days the children are the parents and the parents the children so the whole thing about violence - inappropriate behavior its the parents fault fix v1.00 smack them hard

Whole top and bottom is, it is the parents to blame. No two ways about it. I could go indepth as to why but I find no need. Anybody with common sense can see it's most definitely the parents at fault.
