If its like the xbox it should be all plug and play other then the programming of it. Now the usb should only be fore power. I know this is a prototype and they are using the ext usb for power they may have found a better way to get power for the final 3k3y. What should be needed to hook up is 1. source of power 2. wire from drive to chip then to MB 3. controller its how you pick the game you want to play 4. ext HDD 3 and 4 should be in the same wire but i wont know to i see it.

ok so there will be a bit of case modding to get the cable out of the system.
no supprise hopefully this will come out of the back ot through the vents to reduce damage.

Well C4eva has plan to see what he can do with the ps3 drive. Hes a firmware master everyone should get his burnermax software. Instead of getting 7.96GB of room on a DL DVD you get 8.13 GB of room off the same DL DVD. His site is c4evaspeaks.com. I believe if anyone can get the key on OFW he can. As far as the intergrated into the mainboard you know if there is a will there is a way. On the new xbox drive you can read the drive but you cant write to them. If its like the 360key it has a pass threw mode that works like a wingman ( if anyone dont know what a wingman is google it). It should let all info pass right threw then when it comes to the game read part of it the wingman steps in and shows the drive key as the 3k3y puts the game out. And we all know how great sony is with doing security. Can i get a 4 anyone.

Now im not saying im for it but seeing i work on local game systems I see alot of this stuff. As for the other part you put in your post after i quoted it. I make $40-$50( +parts if they want to keep the flasher) just for opening the case thats still cheaper then the others around me that do it. I do not promote no product. Its the same to me either way. So CFW is faster and that = more money per hour. But on the same note dont judge this book by the cover. I have downgraded a few systems (with your guild) at no cost just cause i knew they could not afford it. But i already got one guy that called and said that he wants the 3k3y just as soon as it comes out and when it comes out he'll pull up in his caddy on whatever size rims with bills that most of the time (he likes to tinker with stuff he should not be playing with) he has to go break to pay me. What am i to do tell him now? Come on baby needs a new pair of shoes.

Ya, even Deank says it´s a possibilty but I´m a little confused about that. this emulates a BD drive but the games are still signed. does it run debug games too? or does it work with eboots signed for the new custom firmwares? If it does work with that signing method how come those eboot won´t work on OFW without the ode?

It should only have to use the laser wire cause thats the data flow wire. It will tell the ps3 its readding a disc even if there aint one in the drive. Most all drives flash the laser a few time to tell if a disc is in the tray from that point the key is telling it there is a disc. But until i see one for real. From my under standing the only reason you need the drive key to tell your drive how to encrypt the game data so your MB can unencrypt it. Kind like how the HDDs are where you cant put it in another system and play it.

The case mod is all up to how you want to do it with the wire they provide. Running it back threw the fan should be fine. Like i said it hard to tell till i see one.

That is his site. He got it set to auto update the site with what he post when he post in irc. That way instead of posting a link to new firmware on irc and his site it just does it for him. The bad thing about that set up is if he tells someone hi in irc it also goes on the site.

That why i refuse to pay much for a used/broken system unless they can prove its not ban.

Remember when failoverflow released to the world they hacked the ps3 and found a security problem with the RNG it always put out the same number they used a 4 as the example of what was going on with the RNG. As for it taking a few years to hack it. Hackers did not need to hack the PS3 as you could use linux on it. They only wanted to hack it after they took it away.

The problem in the xbox scene is their is nothing is going on. C4eva has mastered the firmware of the xbox drive so it appears. They have hacked the unhackable xbox drives with just one board. They have got the reset glitch to work on all the MBs now i think( dont really keep up with it) so its just got kinda stall over there. Where here were just still learning and still got alot to do. Also in the xbox scene the devs get along better and share more info and stuff gets done faster.. But in the ps3 scene more devs like to thing there **** dont stink.
