I've just bought GTA IV and the disk is saying need to upgrade to firmware 2.17. I'm on 2.10 is there ne way to bypass this?

Didn't people have success booting higher firmware games with that tiff exploit thing?

@OP - Just upgrade to whatever firmware comes with GTAIV. We're still SO far away from having a hacked firmware that, by the time it comes out, it won't matter which firmware you have anyway. This really isn't something they're going to have all figured-out by next-week... or next month. Think more along the lines of the summer after next... or 2010. I would think that the PS3's use as an actual gaming system and bluray player would mitigate any concerns of sticking with 2.10 "just in case." |
