Get Rid Of Violent Video Games And All The Violence Will End

Because of a tweet by @condorstrike i found this crazy post, no its not a funny post, but it is filled with randomness >.<

A small community about 30 miles from the site of the Newtown massacre is organizing a voluntary video game return program, aimed at collecting violent video games from families and likely burning them.

The Violent Video Games Return Program offers up gift certificates in exchange for violent games, music and movies turned in during an event later this month.

The collected items will then be broken and later incinerated by town employees.

"We're suggesting that for parents who have a child or children who play violent video games, to first of all view the games. We're asking parents to better understand what their child is doing. Have a conversation about next steps. If parents are comfortable (with their child's gaming habits), we're comfortable."

If parents aren't, he said, then they can head to the local drive-in movie theater on Jan. 12 to turn in those video games in exchange for a $25 gift voucher intended to be used for other forms of entertainment, like perhaps, a local water park. The gift certificate will be donated by a member of the Greater Southington Chamber of Commerce as a "token of appreciation for their action of responsible citizenship," according to a press release.

While the return program calls out violent video games, violent movies and music will also be accepted.

Once turned in, those discs will be snapped, tossed into a town dumpster and likely later incinerated, Erardi said.
I didn't paste the full story, but you can read it here.

Let's do the same for child abuse....... destroy all child abuse video games and all child rape will vanish from the earth..... Oh wait, there are no child abuse games (AFAIK and hope for "god" sake) but still this very bad thing happens every day.....

Doing bad things is in our blood and nature, strange some people on this planet believe it only started with the introduction of video games
Hypocrite also to only take the video games..... how about all media that contains violence (DVD, BD etc.) including dad's (and mum's) SM video's

Edit... didn't even read the last part about movies and music..... ah, whatever...

People will just find other ways to satisfy their inner violent tendencies. If anything *I THINK* violent video games suppress killer instincts in many people by letting them vent their frustrations in a virtual environment as opposed to going out, picking up daddy's gun and blasting your brother in the face while trying to take a Facebook photo.

Ok I got carried away with another news article I read.

Blame on something, anything as long it's not the individuals. Guns, violent video games, rap music, etc. People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions and stop trying to find something else to place the blame on. Violence is nothing new. It's been around since the beginning of time. It's just that sensationalist news media outlets blow this stuff up and try to dictate what they think is right for society.

In all honesty it's nothing new. There's been all kinds of rallies over the years where they burn anything from Qurans to music cd's with parental advisory warnings.

We live in a hypocritical society that sends our boys to war and expects them to kill and return home with a sound mind. Yet they claim we can't handle violent video games. You can go die for your country at the age of 18 but you can't sit down at a bar and have a drink. Child molesters are set free from prison and are allowed to roam the streets.

But let's blame the video games.

Exclamation Seriously!?

Personally, just because some dumb ass with psychological issues decides to kill 30 people in an elementary school, doesn't mean we have to take away kids violent games for a simple $25 Voucher, considering we all pay around $60 for a game nowadays and be wasted for a $25 voucher. I think its wrong. On the other hand, take a $5 spider man game and take it for a $25 voucher if thats acceptable.
