Is it possible to take a good Cell processor and NOR off a matching board to fix another board? As I see it they are a matched pair.

Let me explain what I want to do.... I have a wrapped motherboard that YLOD and one that RSOD. I want to take the CELL and NOR off the warped board and make the un-warped board work. Yes I have access to reball/rework machine.

What else would I have to change if anything to make this work. I am estimating that the processor and the nor are married as the blu ray board is married to the motherboard.

Can anyone confirm if this will work or not?

This will work but you have to replace the SYSCON chip also.

So to make it work we need Processor, NOR (or dump of flash), Syscon, and Blu Ray board (or re marry) am I correct?

Id like to see this work as well. I dont think it will be that easy.

I think it will be very difficult that is why I have an experienced reball tech to do the transfers. we have a bunch of boards we can test. If it will work then half of the garbage is recycled.
