ps3 3000b - No power - changed power supply and power button

Recently I have had the unfortunate event of tradin a working ps3 for a non working ps3 and some cash in hopes of repairing and reselling the console. Everything appeared to be ok with the console never opened warranty sticker never touch black screws not even scratched so i don't beleive anyone was in it before.. I plug it in no power/ standy by light changed power supply, and power connection wires. any suggestions would be helpful I'm more thinking that its a fuse related issue at this point thanks.

check the ribbon cable from the mother board to the power eject board. the ends have possibly gone bad

maybe the board just burned. A short might have been the main reason for the console to stop working in first place.

It seems like it was never open before, so what else could cause the console to stop working ?

all fuses and thermal resistors are clearly marked on the mainboard.
there should also be 3,3V regulators on the mainboard.

if you know where the syscon ic is you could measure if 3,3V is reaching that chip.

or post some quality pics from mainboard here, i just love good pics.

If you've ruled out the power lead, the small connector that goes between the power lead and psu, the psu itself and the 4 pin cable, the fault will be with either the motherboard, the power eject board ribbon cable or the power eject board itself.

That's me stating the obvious of course, but we can also rule out the power eject board and it's ribbon cable by trying to insert a disk to see if the PS3 springs to life.

If not then we can focus on the motherboard!

@Mr.Dutch is right about the good pics lol

i'm told that the slims need a good power/eject board to operate well.
your trick would definitely work on the fat ps3.

@Mr.Dutch wow I didn't even think to try with the Slim, I just assumed lol.
Okay, I just removed the power, eject board and ribbon cable from my CECH-2003A Slim and pushing a disk triggered it to turn on. Maybe it's different for a 21***, 25*** or 30****, I don't have these versions to test for now.
