i went into my local GameStop the other day to check out what they had and i saw a dusty fat ps3 i asked him how old it was and he said that's been here a good while so i asked him if i could check the firmware on it and if i was satisfied i would buy it for 66 euros and to my joy it was on 3.15 so this just prove you should check out local pawnshops and gamestops (small gamestops not the mall one) and you never know you could get a 3.55 ps3 for just 80 euros :D

Your best bet are 120gb and 250gb consoles as if they're untouched they'll be on 3.55 or lower. Also some early 320gb consoles bundled with a game ( if the game's release date was 2010) should be on 3.55 or lower. Only trouble there is you need to be sure it is an official original bundle and not a re-release or just somebody making up their own bundle deal lol.

Also look for pictures of the actual console boxes as the 3D logo on front-bottom-right means 3.50+ hence no logo means -3.50.
