I just acquired a non-functioning PS3 Slim 160GB. I'm an IT "Guru" but this machine is new to me. I just had the GPU Re-Flowed, but it still doesn't work. I'm not after using it as a game machine.... I want to use it as aa Linux-Server. Any suggestions on fixing it so it will work as a basic PS3 ? It stalled during an update... and hasn't worked since...

If it stalled during an update sounds like you have a semi brick. In which case you will need a flasher. Did you have it reflowed professionally?

hmm tell me if you remove the hd and hook up via component or sd do you get any video at all also are you able to open recovery mode?
