anw thanks for making it clear..

but i had a problem with an a ps3 than have been dumped with a progskeet the dump is vaild but i thought if i've byte reversed it .. the e3 flasher will write back correctly so i've write the dump back ! the ps3 turned on then off .. this what seems to be the problem i have to repatch the original "progskeet" dump so it will work on the e3 flasher !

cuse i have never used a progskeet, i really want to but from here odering stuff like that isn't so easy and then the soldering...then again i believe i could do it, reading all those projects..i envy it a little...great stuff and even greater when u have the knowho about that and electrics and stuff......but back to Progskeet....i'm not totally sure about the nxt statement, i recall reading it can dump both ways? via the tool "Winskeet" in noob terms.....> either scrambled(FI.I) or unscrambled(IF.I), i have a Teesny setup and with NORway it always dumps "unscrambled-read-able dumps" = IF.I header at offset 200

i see no reason why a Progskeet made valid dump and checked via HxD won't work for a E3 flasher, the important thing here is only making sure that the dump is byte reversed/scrambled/un-readable = FI.I header, so yeah it read/write in a different way than the "pro tools" it's the same for "software dumps" with MM or Toolbox, those are like Progskeet/Teesny = IF.I header and if "valid" u can restore a ps3 brick using it with e3 flasher but first byte reverse it, the same for a Teensy made dump, it can be used by a E3 to..it really doesn't matter only watch the IF.I/FI.I header

I haven't been lucky enough to get a 3.56 console to try this.

It does say here though, that it won't work on OFW 4.31.

With this method we can install CFW (FOR NOW ONLY CFW 4.30 E3) without do a downgrade process from any OFW superior or inferior to 3.55 but not superior to 4.30. ( PS3 WITH 4.31 OFW FOR NOW IT’S NOT POSSIBLE, YOU POSSIBLE BRICK IF YOU TRY).

But that doesn't mean anything. E3 also say on their site, that their E3 flasher supports NANDs, but it doesn't.

i would like to have a link of dump too. also i have this auto dump patcher since the begining it came on (it isnt made by rogero). downgraded many 1a datacode ps3 but i though it wasnt possible for 4.31

Rogero posted about this, for now the MAX OFW = 4.30, but good news as always ...lemme quote the message again just incase u missed it

just to give you some quick answers: - You can patch the NOR with three Muskteteers Patch, Flash it, then start PS3 with connect controller message, and install Rogero CFW4.30 v2.05 from a normal USB directly (no FSM needed at all) this works if the PS3 is on OFW <= 4.30, if the PS3 is on 4.31 then you need the old patches for 3.55 coreos + FSM install ( also use Rogero 4.30 v2.05 from FSM directly ) the good news >>> Also, a new version of the PS3 Auto Nor Patcher is in the work with a new CFW v2.06 that will make the downgrading procedure very simple ( and will be compatible also for PS3's on OFW4.31 with Factory version 3.56, no FSM will be needed to any downgrade anymore )

So, can I apply the three muskteteers patch on any nor flash. Not just limited to 3.56 factory PS3s? And as long as it is on OFW4.30 or lower, install Rogero 4.30 from recovery?

Can't wait for the new patcher and new CFW. Rogero makes things so easy.

thats right. you can use three musketieers patch on every ps3. i used on a ps3 that i couldnt enter fsm due to switch problem. the good news is that you can downgrade 1a datacode ps3 on 4.31. i dont know about 1b. never had one of those in my hand
