I'm talking about ram not gddr which is graphics card's memory. But you're correct partially, main ram in rambus technology may be minimally faster. But it's high price affected it's quantity... so we have 256 mb ram in ps3, of which 70 mb is taken by the system. 256 for gfx is enough but 256 mb main ram is a FAIL. so will fail ps4, maybe even more. And greater proccesing power won't help as it did with ps3.

This is my issue. As it stands right now the 7970 is what I am putting in my computer within the next 2 weeks. Not to mention an AMD 8 core. I am almost positive I will have more ram than what actually gets shipped as a finished product.

I see some good looking stuff in the future, but sadly I do not see a great improvement over this current gen. What has happened is this is where the PC and console playing fields will come somewhat to a level playing field, but PC hardware is always improving. Now because I can run a game on Ultra settings doesnt mean I could do the same with a PC I built during the PS3 release. Look at Crysis and when everyone thought the nvidia 8800 was God like.... yeah I remember those days and look at how far PC gaming has come. Sadly with PC gaming if you want to stay ahead of console gaming it can become an expensive habit. Being a graphics whore isn't what gaming is about. I personally will not be an early PS4 adopter because I have made the switch to favoring the PC more. I just dont want my early PS4 experience to be like those early days of not **** to play PS3 days.

Hands down PC gaming is the better gamers platform but not everyone can afford to either jump into it, or to keep up with the pricey upgrades every couple of years as opposed to the 6-10 year lifespan on consoles. Hell PS2 just now stopped being shipped. I am spending almost $700 in PC upgrades just because I am a graphics whore and got upset with my frame rate on far cry 3 when attempting to run it on Ultra...... **** YOU DIRECT X 11 lol

PCs need the extra power because they also do many other things. A console is for home entertainment and playing games. Of course when I build a computations monster it is going to out perform a console, but that also means I dont get God of War. A console is a console, a PC is a PC. Even though you can game on both doesnt even justify them being classified as the same type of device.
