completely dead ps3?

So I gave my friend a cfw ps3 a few month ago. I was at his last week putting san andreas on for him. (Last time ps3 was used).

Now he turned on the ps3 to find no red light atall. I have tried 4 psu's, different psu cables. Tried turning on with controller and nothing?

It is a phat CECHG I think... But why would it work one day and not the other?

a multimeter would be usefull in this situation , so you changed the power cable and the 5 wire cable (psu to mainboard)?

power/eject button are not working?
i guess controller is also not starting the ps3? , or inserting a disc (if the drive is empty)

you need to measure if at least there's power reaching the board, a multimeter can be really cheap, mine only cost 5 euro.
