Compaq C700 laptop problem!

I have a Compaq C700 laptop it turns on and stays on fine, but when i restart i have to turn on the pc again it doesn't restart properly ,i cleaned the fan i changed the memory and hard drive also the battery good...Do i need a new motherboard?

That's a confusing statement. It turns on and stays on fine but when you restart it, it just shuts off. I would recommend turning it on the way that it stays on. Could be lots of problems. You might need a new battery. I had a laptop before where the contact points went bad where you plug the power adapter in and I had to solder it. Try running a malware check too. Do it from safe mode.

let me tell u a lil more of what happening first my brother drop my laptop so i replaced the screen and i also reforrmated the OS i and bought a new charger. Like i said i try different memory and harddrive and the same thing happens. I removed the battery and use the charger to power on the pc and the same thing happen man i ran out of ideas i set my boot option to factory and i also check the power saving setting everything check ok..when i press on restart it trys to restart it makes a loud click and turns off i have to turn it on myself..i found the motherboard on ebay but im affaird it mite do the same thing..

i had same laptop they recalled the battery if you go onto compaq website to find more info.

ok i did do a disk check but i had the wfi and dvd drive out not connected..and i got this message,1720 -S.MA.R.T. Hard Drive detects imminent failure (Failing Attr: xx) remember tho i did try a new hard drive and the same thing happend...hey danny its not the battery

i understand dude but if it has the original battery be careful please they known to be a fire hazard m8.

try removing the battery , then while the battery is off hold down power button for about 3 min then try and see if that helps

The loud clicking you're hearing is indicative of a hard drive failure. The fact that SMART has reported this means that is definitely the case. A failing hard drive can cause a system not to POST (not always though) and the fact it was dropped is probably how it got damaged. If you want a second opinion, feel free to grab a diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturer and test it. To be honest though, I'm certain it will tell you the same thing.
