PS3 Slim 120gig no video through HDMI

Good day

I bought a second hand ps3 slim 120gig CECH-2004A. But the ps3 does not have video output through HDMI. On AV it works 100%, boots, reads games no problem but i cant seem to get video through HDMI. I already did restore to default settings, file system restore , video reset blah blah all that still no video.

Any ideas on what might be wrong or is it repairable?

Tx in advance

Check the HDMI pins from the outside and see if there is broken or something.
if it is broken i do not know who can fix it for you,
but in the worst case you can buy an AV cable with a component and can give you good picture on the TV

I do not know if you have tried that, but could you change the HDMI slot of your TV, say from HDMI1 to HDMI2

I did that still same no video/ no signal. Grrr this is driving me crazy can it be that the port is faulty tho there is no physical damage to it?

Have you checked the video output settings? Make sure HDMI is set. My Samsung did that to me after a restore but when i hooked it up to my Sony it worked fine. After i set the HDMI it worked just fine on both TVs.

yes it can. its entirely possible the port has died. maybe faulty defect from the manufacture or possibly he was careless with it and just yanked the stuff in and out carelessly. is the ps3 under warranty? if no open it and look at the hdmi port. is it connected properly? no broken solder or anything out of place? if no well.. id say you need to change it. or i suggest an alternative listed above. in my living room im using component cables instead of hdmi so i can take the red and white to a stereo. but you know what? the component video ( green, blue, red cords) display 1080p anyways. so you dont need hdmi. component av does the same
