I appreciate some of you are going to completely disregard this post, as you have already upgraded yourselves and the tutorials are easy to access, but that isn't what i am asking, so please don't just jump to conclusions and think i'm just looking to upgrade, but haven't bothered to look for the tutorial myself.

What i am asking though, however is if i should update to rogero or rex, and what are the main differences/ advantages of one compared to the other. Or are they both extremely similar?

And if you are wondering; unrelated to the topic, as to why i am finally deciding to upgrade, as i want to play GTA SA and VC and have read it can be difficult on kmeaw/3.55 cfw's- contrasting to supposedly new cfw's. Also i don't want to be outdated, and most of what is on the scene is made for new firmware now anyway.

So tl;dr Which is the better 4.?? firmware to upgrade to and why? Thanks

Rogero CEX 4.30 v2.05
-very stable
-4.31 spoofed
-nice downgrade compatibility (lv2 checks disabled so no QA flagging required)
-in my opinion pwns kmeaw
-no eboot patching etc
-rare PSN bans are on rogero
-99.9999% of all games work
-(say sth usefull and i add it)

Rebug REX 4.21.2 (not 4.30 because it doesnt support BD-mirror)
-BD-mirror (lets the PS3 think you have a working BD installed)
-its also DEX (is needed for devs)
-read a lot of problems to get back to CEX
-most PSN bans come from rebug
-VERY MUCH settings (you can do nearly everything where rogero looks 90% as OFW)
-spoofer required
-some newer games need eboot patches as its a 4.21 FW

since this is a personal question regarding the pups...
they all are good ( i like to think anyway )

but for me, and this was not the case on 3.55 back in the days....
now on 4.xx, i'm sitting on Rebug's REX 4.21.2 and someone may not use all options available ... it's good for noobs and also for the more advanced users .. the thing is, the firmware is really stable! all those dev's know them stuff...but the 4.xx rebug is a monster
u have the removed OtherOS back etc etc... on that part..cuse i'm a linux nooby..always fixing one problem..and there's another..he linux... still not sure if it's fully patched for 4.21.2? ...like it ( fully) works on the 3.55 series...RedRibbon runs smooth and can be used as a browser etc..maybe not using it all days but it belongs on the PS3 then we have the new Rogero's 4.xx pups, it's my own experience..can't talk for others ...notice alot of corrupt errors there?!...it's just a fact?..sorry

whatever causing it beats me and because of bricking back on 4.21..btw is also user mistake cuse we are warned at the time that this not be used without a hardware flasher! and always used Rogero's on 3.55...steady firmware and the 3.7 is just special

in the end..it's all up to the end user...each prefer his own but for me REX all the way

I like REX (4.21.2) because when you play backups you don't need a game disc in the drive (with DEX kernel and BD-mirror ofc). Another cool thing about Rebug's REX is with the DEX options you can use something called "Fake Save Data Owner" which allows you to download a save from the internet and use it without re-signing. I think that it's a pretty neat feature. A thing that can be annoying is when you activate "Fake Save Data Owner" you can't turn it back off, well you can but your save won't load...

Another thing that is annoying is while you are loading a save or saving in the right hand corner it will say "Caution: Fake Save Data Owner is On" or something like that.

I use "Fake Save Data Owner" because i have many accounts...

Again.. That is a feature only DEX and Rebug CFW's have...

Run the pkg, you should hear some beeps, now to confirm go to network settings and push at the same time L1 R1 L2 R2 L3 and down on the d pad. If the menu showed up you have successfully dehashed. DO NOT continue if you have not verified that the above step worked.

when u go to rogero i said '-good downgrade compatibility (lv2 checks disbaled so no QA flagging required'

also for updating to another FW you dont need QA flag its just 1% safier
