PS3 no video on screen
Hey guys, so recently my ps3 just blew up on me. It turns on green light and all but theres no video on the screen its just completely black. When i enter recovery mode i tried doing system restore but the thing was. I think its a video card problem or what not but i was at the part where it should be asking you to select your language that part is all blurred out so i have no idea what languages to choose from so i tried just doing things randomly but then after all that. The screens all black again after choosing my language but i can hear sounds from me going left and right on the controller. Is this fixable? Any kind of suggestions would be helpful. Thank you
Oh and also the controller don't seem to sync right it usually just blinks all 4 red lights. Only way to get it to sync for recovery mode was i had to turn off the ps3 and let the controller be plugged in to the ps3 and let it sitting there for an hour or so and then it would sync up properly again. |

Sounds like the GPU solder may be cracked... May need a reball.
Sent from my mind 5 using Psychokinesis 2.

@kaosboi
, the fats are know for such issues and also ylod.
the system just gets too hot, and the solder that is used will have cracks in it, or get loose so some pins from the gpu are not contacting the mainboard anymore. reballing means that the current solder is replaced by better solder, and it should fix your problem. did you tried the reset video option? , although i think it's useless to try. |

@Mr.Dutch
yes i have tried almost every solution there is regarding the software. Never tried the hardware fixes as i have no experience with opening the ps3 and its contents inside. How much do you think reballing would cost? Thanks for the info.

overhere it would probably cost 50-60 euro, but you need to find someone local that can do it.

Oh, okay thanks. Think i found a local place but the cost is like $120 CAD lol. Because they charge $30 for diagnostics fees. Think thats a good price?

That's half the price of a brand new ps3. I'd be hesitant, but whatever.
