I'm a complete noob concerning ps3 hacking but here goes: (did wii and xbox360 before)

-I managed to get a completely new (straight from the factory) fat ps3 80gb model.

1)Will I be able to get rogero on this model ? (is rogero the best cfw atm ?)
2)I found some noob guides with out of date links to mediafire.
Does someone have up to date links to a noob guide on how to install rogero (or another cfw) ?

3)Will I have to install 3.55OFW first before getting the CFW ?
Do I need to make a dump of the original files , so I can unjailbreak later ?

Apart from running backup (iso) games, what other advantages does this give to PS3 users ?

1) rogero(like every CFW) is NOT compatible with
-ultra slim (CECH-40xxx)
-CECH-30xxx
-CECH-25xxx with datecode 1B or higher
-CECH-25xxx with datecode 1A is 50/50

but dont worry every fat is jailbreakable

thats the official source for rogero's CFW

3)ye go to OFW 3.55 if youre higher than OFW 3.55 you need a hardware flasher to downgrade
if youre lower than 3.55 just download the FW(named PS3UPDAT.PUP) put it on a fat32 formatted usb stick in X:\PS3\UPDATE\ and use the PS3s update function (do the same when you want to go from OFW 3.55 to any CFW)

and no you only need dumps when youre hardware flashing

-FTP
-edit savefiles
-play with the os (when you have a flasher)
-showtime (watch movies etc)
