Post A Strange Partial Brick

I just learned this is the yellow light of death or red blinking light of death. I'm basically screwed. I think I'm out of the PS3 game hacking scene now. You can ignore the rest of this thread.

1.
I'm not sure of what to call this. I copied Resistance 3 to my PS3. I started the game and installed the game data. I don't remember what happened while I was testing packages, but I needed to uninstall its game data for something. I went to game data to delete it, and waited. 10 minutes go by, and I've seen games with 3 times as much data take less than 5 minutes. I couldn't exit, so I turned it off. Ran the game, it didn't need to install game data. I was baffled. I went to multiman and checked, and there was still some folder that was weirdly named with "DELETE" in its name that I assumed was what was getting deleted but for some reason didn't delete correctly so I deleted it.

2.
Tried some more test packages for Resistance 3, and they starting acting weird because my TV randomly started not getting any input from the HDMI cable, and it wouldn't turn off unless I turned the switch on the back of my PS3. I thought things got very messed up or something, so I went into the recovery menu to format everything. I did that, no input to the TV again and I couldn't turn it off. I waited about 10 minutes before it seemed like it was taking far longer than normal and turned it off with the back switch again. Now it's weird.

3.
I turn it on, no input to the HDMI for my TV. I need to hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn it off. I tried going to the recovery menu, except it won't go. I hold power to turn it on and keep holding it, but about 10 seconds later it turns off like normal. I try a few more times and get the same thing.

4.
I put in a game, still the same thing without input. I then turn it on and just wait, and around 5 minutes it beeps and turns off. The red light that means it is off keeps blinking and doesn't seem to stop after I wait a few minutes. I take the game out and do the same thing and get the same blinking red light after I wait 5 minutes and it turns itself off. I do that a few times, same thing.

5.
I try for the recovery menu again, no luck, same thing. I then turn it on and pay attention, and after about 1 or 2 minutes the fan starts going and it sounds like the PS3 would normally sound when it turns on. When it starts doing this, I turn it off. I then try the recovery menu again. I turn on power and keep holding, 10 seconds and it beeps, a few more and it beeps twice as if I didn't even do the part where I turn it on, hold, beep, keep holding, beep and turns off. It didn't even do that part, and it went to the recovery menu.

6.
I select the 5th option to format it. It does the thing again where my TV doesn't get any input. I wait anyhow and after about 10 minutes the PS3 powers off. I turn it on, and go through all of the stuff I normally do for first times turning on a PS3, and make it to the XMB screen. I go into debug options just to make sure rebug 4.21 rex is still correct. I exit the debug settings and the PS3 freezes. I hit the switch again. It's now back to that thing again where it doesn't turn on.

7.
I repeat the process and get to the recovery menu and do the format again and give it its time until it turns off. I turn it on, back to the same problem with no TV input. I do it again and go to the recovery menu and try the 3rd and 4th options to rebuild data or whatever and reset the file system. Same thing.

8.
I turn on the PS3, wait about 1 to 2 minutes for it to start making noise and then turn it off. I turn it on normally not bothering to try to get to the recovery menu, and it starts up like normal. I turn it off, and get the same no input thing. I keep turning it off, waiting for it to make normal noises, turn it off, turn it on, and that's now how I seem to keep getting to the normal XMB.

9.
I do the weird method and go back to the recovery menu, format things again, still not fixed. I then rebuild the index, same problem. I try to restore the file system, it tells me it can't access it. I try to install OFW 3.55 that I've used many times at the recovery menu. It says checking. 45 minutes later I get pissed waiting because normally it takes a little under 30 minutes so I know I've been waiting longer than it has always taken before. I hold power for about 10 seconds and it shuts off. It's now back to the same weird way of turning it on and the firmware didn't change.

10.
I try installing OFW 3.55 from the XMB, it says nothing is there. I went the system options and go to format and see quick and full format. I was going to do a full format since it normally always does a quick format, but it estimated about 4 hours and it was only 10 minutes before I needed to leave for work. I'm at work. I also formatted my pen drive and put the OFW 3.55 back on it just in case that got messed up. Those are about the only 2 things left I can think of trying when I get home.

If anybody has encountered this, I'd like to know what happened to this thing and if it is common or something that can be fixed. My only 2 options when I get home are to try OFW 3.55 and rebug 4.21 rex, and to try a full HD format.

I'm assuming Factory Service Mode is what I've been calling the recovery menu that I hold the power button to turn on, hold until 2 beeps occur and it shuts off, then I press and hold power again until it goes into that screen that has the 6 options to restart the system, restore default PS3 settings, restore file system, rebuild index, format, and install a firmware.

I had just installed rebug 4.21 over rebug 3.55 hours before I started messing around with Resistance 3, and I've done that a few times before without any problems. I don't know what "lvdiag" is, and see "LV2Diag.self" on google too which isn't helping me. Right now it's been doing a full format from XMB for a little over 3 hours and it is still sitting at 0% on a fat old 60GB PS3 that it estimated taking less than 4 hours to do that already had a quick format twice on so there wasn't anything to really delete. I'm going to bed and hoping I wake up to see the problem solved. If not, I'll attempt another OFW 3.55 reinstall from the recovery menu. If that doesn't work, turn it on and let it turn itself off into the blinking red off light and hope something has changed by the time I get home from work.

Next time when you delete Resistance 3's game data, don't turn PS3 off or whatever. Let it delete the stuff. It's very known that it takes PS3 more than 15+ mins to delete Resistance 3's game data
