@TitaniumL are you one REBUG 4.xx?

I read somewhere that on rebug 4.xx CFWS you can just hit a different button (like O or /\ or some other button) to bypass that error (rather than hitting X to confirm that "ok" auth failed), but it could have been bullsh!t, I have Rogero so haven't tried that.... if it's even a thing

Note A:A .rap file is required to activate content, this is not provided. Search for
Click here to see full text
UP9000-NPUD20552_00-0000000000000000.rap

Note B: Any time the PS3 restarts and shows an error message wanting to check the hard drive, just choose to cancel.

01 goto Rebug 4.30.1
02 create new user account on the XMB and rename it to aa
03 Log into aa
04 Have USB thumb drive in right USB slot
05 Install reActPSN v2.23
06 Run reActPSN and hold down R1 on controller
07 You should have a new folder on the root of your USB thumb drive called reActPSN.
08 Make a new folder called exdata on the root of the USB thumb drive and place the .rap file in this folder.
09 Run ReActPSN once again (no buttons held down on controller).
10 aa user should have been auto renamed to reActPSN something
11 Log into your normal account
12 Install ViceCity
13 Run ViceCity

Note C: If game doesn't run, use a PS3 file manager or ftp program to copy act.dat from the aa/reActPSN user account to your main user account. Then delete the reActPSN user account and goto step 2. act.dat is located in: /dev_hdd0/home/########/exdata

######## is the user account number, the new aa/reActPSN user account you made will be the higher number.

Hope it makes sense and can useful for someone with a non backwards compatible PS3. Many thanks to @ZOMBIEKILLAH @DEFAULTDNB for info on how to use reActPSN

Edit: This method worked for me on a PS3 that has never created or logged into any PSN account. Has been completely offline since format, downgrade and cfw install.

@DEFAULTDNB

OMG it worked!!

I'll be back with more info soon as this intro is over :D

I'm on Rebug 4.30. This is for GTA SA.

EDIT: Ok exactly here's what I did. I used this guide and it worked for me.

1. Disabled my internet connection from Network settings on PS3.
2. Created 'exdata' folder and put GTA SA .rap file in it and placed the 'exdata' on the root of FAT32 USB device plugged in right-hand front USB Port. Made sure it's the only USB device connected.
3. Installed ReActPSN via package manager in XMB (had it on the same usb ready to install).
4. Created a new user profile on ps3 called 'aa' and logged on.
5. Loaded 'ReActPSN' from the aa profile (obviously since I'm logged on) by pressing x.
6. The PS3 restarted and got the corrupted data restore message (this is normal) and pressed 'o' to cancel.
7. aa profile was renamed to reActPSN v2.0 1rif 0edat (and did not logon to it now just checked it's name and was renamed).
8. Logged in to my normal user profile (NOT aa), removed the usb device, loaded GTA SA and it worked! (I have previously installed GTA SA pkg before all these steps were taken since I've tried a different tutorial before this one that didn't work. So I guess it doesn't matter whether you install the game pkg first or last)

This worked perfectly for me. If you want to give it a shot with these exact steps, word for word, hopefully it works for you.

EDIT: Oh forgot to mention I had the wrong rap file before I think? I used another one now that had UP9000 at the beginning compared to the one that didn't work. I'm not sure which step made this work but I'd advise doing exactly what I did with the same rap file.

I got it from here.

Later I'll try Vice City :D

@TitaniumL I will give it a shot with GTA:SA and VICE and report back later.... not looking hopeful though.... might have to switch to rebug....

Have you ever used that PS3 online before? (did you have your own act.dat?) or did you use React to generate a general act.dat?

I do use it online for Store and trophies only but never activated before. I've only activated it now for testing when the first time loading GTA SA failed. Moved around act.dats and still failed. That's why I deleted react psn and all its files plus the 2 profiles I created for it and started again with the steps I posted above.

I want to go through this again without my activation this time see if it works, unless you try it first since you are de-activated.

EDIT: @DEFAULTDNB

I can confirm it works with PS3 de-activated and my act.dat from my main profile deleted. Deleted everything I created from the previous post, started afresh. It works with the exact steps made above :D It should work for you! Make sure you use the same rap file I linked to as well.

Any ideas?
I am not 100% but that game if it just came around yesterday can not be fixed. It is a straight up PS2 game look at param.sfo id starts with SLUD.. So basically it also has a ISO.BIN.EDAT & is not a PSN remake ,some of PropJoe words in here & mine can not be fixed .

If this is a different game disregard what i said...

So you did you do that step in RED & it work for you ? Copying the act.dat in main user then run ReactPSN again ? I am wondering cause, that is what i did ,but with my real PSN act.dat, from different PS3. Either way a reactpsn act.dat would work to i am sure & i believe having the act.dat in my main user account made it work for me ..

Glad i could help & you got what you wanted . I know the feeling , the first time is always the best time. That could mean many things lol

I am setting up my new PS Slim now ,so i will be looking real close how reactpsn works today
