This CFW is installed only on consoles With OFW 1.00--3.55 and All CFW/MFW 3.55 or CFW +3.55 with spkg sig check patched

1.00-3.55 is good.

I would update to 3.55: http://www.ps3hax.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=557 then switch to a 3.55 CFW to QA toggle: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/QA_Flagging and enable QA flag with the button combo, then update to this 4.31 CFW.

If I do install qa flag do I need to install CFW355-OTHEROS++-SPECIAL.pup? Or just the qa_flag_extra.pkg? And does anyone have a link to download the qa flag? Links ffrom the ps3dev are down.

You can just update from 3.40 to 3.55 KMEAW/Rogero/Rebug, install QA toggle from instal package files, verify the QA flag is set with button combo, update to this CFW from XMB.

then after downgrade i used REBUG_3.55.3_REX_PS3UPDAT.PUP via XMB
then i used Rogero_CEX_4.30_v2.05 via XMB

you only need to de-hash if you have downgraded to 3.55 from a higher firmware
this is due to the higher firmware hashes still being present in the syscon.
the de-hash puts these hashes to 3.55 that then allows you to install any cfw or ofw without the syscon panic.

so if your on 4.30 ofw and go to 4.30cfw or 4.31cfw then the syscon has 4.30 hashes allready.

but instead of doing the QA-flag and de-hash you now need to re-fill the ROS files by re-installing the 4.30cfw or 4.31cfw first via recovery menu then via xmb storage media update (make sure you have NO disk in the drive.
