Hi,
as I understand there are two ways of installing games, one with a pkg file, the other is copying game files using an ftp program. I installed a game by copying its files to GAMES folder. And I want to update it.

But updates are pkg files, so will it be updated properly?

I have CFW 4.30 and Multiman 4.19.

I got the same problem, when im trying to update darksiders II from 1.00 to 1.02 i get a pkg and install it, afterwards my game is still 1.00, been trying multiply times, with different methods, however nothing seems to work

I'd guess your using the wrong update then. USA /Europe/ Japan.
