Figured out the WIFI issue, not sure if this is a work around or just plain odd:

If you scan for your WIFI network and hit connect you always get prompted for a password: ANNOYING.

You leave your WIFI and re-enter later on and your WIFI doesnt auto connect: ANNOYING.

Everytime you reboot your iPhone (not respring) your WIFI is disconnected: ANNOYING.

HOW TO FIX IT:

Open your WIFI settings, disconnect from your network, click connect to network > other, enter the name of your network you just disconnected from, enter the security settings (WPA/2/WEP etc), enter your password, and hit connect (if it doesnt auto connect)

Low and behold it remembers the network this MANUAL way, but not the AUTOMATIC way...... I never had to do this on IOS 5.1.1.

h7v.org now also has an appsync especially for ios 6 (didnt try it, but its a very nice repo, should work)

I figured out it seems to be if you connect to a found network, my 3GS on 6.1 forgets the network (never "remembers" it)

If you enter the network manually it remembers and even has the option to forget network.

I never had to set it up like that on 5.1.1. scan + connect always used to remember too... but now it doesnt.

Verified on my GF's 3GS just now too, she's running 5.1

hmmm, never had something like this with my 3gs on 6.1,
maybe an installed tweak that is not updated for ios 6 causes this?

All who have had issues with long boot times or stuck at apple logo when booting(forcing you to do a hard reset) after evasi0n untethered jailbreak head to Cydia and if not automatically asked to update, manually find and update:

Evasi0n 6.0-6.1 untether version 0.2-3

This will fix all boot issues.

Completely vanilla I have this issue.

I was testing various tweaks today to see ram usage etc, and the answer came to me as I kept respring/rebooting repetedly and had to re-enter wifi password every 2 mins.

It's a weird one.
