Ps3 Slim Issues

Hi,

so ive had my Ps3 Slim for almost 3 years now and a few months back i started getting issues with the blue ray drive. New games like Fifa13 or AC:Revelations would take several attempts to start coming up with the disc cant be read error (error code 80010514). So i looked around on the web for solutions and it seemed like my blue ray lens could have gotten some dust on it. So i followed a step by step guide to open my Ps up and get to the lens to clean it. After putting everything back together at first the hdmi wouldnt work so i unplugged the tv waited a bit and wouldnt you know everything worked again.
The next day the hdmi didnt work again and I havent been able to get it to work ever since. Next the Ps started to behave strange when starting up:
when i press the start button or ps button on the controller the ps will beep once then nothing happens for about 20-30 seconds then it will start normally....
Also since hdmi isnt working anymore i had to switch to Component and after a few days on component the sound began go away and come back randomly untill it didnt come back anymore -.-

yea i looked around online and i havent seen anyone else having similar problems...
And before you ask yes i was very carefull and i didnt break anything... also nothing smells burned inside etc...
This whole thing is just so wierd... I mean if i hadnt been carefull and broke something the ps shouldnt start at all and not you know slowly decay and fall apart day by day...
any help is appreciated!

ok, i really have no idea what the hell is wrong with your slim.
the syscon ic is the only one that could delay the boot.
it is also the one that controls the boot process and can turn every power line on and off in the ps3.
theres nothing wrong with your cables?, did you tried your ps3 also in a different place/room.

for now i'm clueless.

thank you for your fast reply a friend and me actually just managed to fix most of my issues. This is what we did we opened the ps again and cleaned all the connections specifically those which have plastic foils with wires inside and now except for the blue ray reading issues everything is working again :D
So Error 80010514... do u think it would be worth to clean the lens again? last time i used a tissue and cleaning fuel on the internet people suggest qtipps so maybe that would make a difference?

Hello
@ Poco Fill - unfortunately the error code 80010514 usually means that the BDplayer is dying, you will need to replace the laser unit.

but it seems to be working now? or are you saying this will reoccur? if so that kinda sucks but luckily i have a friend who has a spare slim laser so tht shouldnt be a huge problem.

yes, I meant to say that but who knows ... maybe the problem was linked to other malfunctions that now you have solved, good luck then

Same error multiple times in fixing PS3's here. Sometimes a bunch of games will even play but only a couple wont. Changing the lens works every time. BUT, that error code can be a few different things. It all depends on what's happening when you get the error code. In your case, a new lens would do it.
