Don't think my ps3 can handle rogero 4.30(?) cfw, so was wondering how i go about going to ofw... thanks!

Aha yeah that's it, and had to pay £50 to get my ps3 repaired a day after updating to rogero, so i think my ps3 is too old for it!

If your console can handle 4.31 OFW then it will handle Rogero 4.30 CFW fine since it is built using 4.30 OFW files.

Lol any PS3 can handle Rogero and any CFW! There's no difference between CFW and OFW in terms of hardware requirements, they both use the PS3's hardware resources the same!

I bet you had it repaired at a Sony Service Center (or some service center that sells original games) and they told you it was the CFW that broke it to have you go back to OFW because they're scared you wouldn't buy games anymore!

Don't believe them or anyone who tells you so, a CFW can never break your PS3 (unless u brick it while flashing), I bet whatever happened to ur PS3 would have happened even on OFW, it was just by chance that it happened one day after updating to Rogero!

Can anyone actually explain how to safely transition from 4.30 cfw to ofw then, as i also want to play online legitimately?

cfw does not hurt the ps3, whoever told you that is either a genius as he got you scared, or uninformed.

If you're going ofw because your ps3 "can't handle it" (which is bull by the way.) You're going to miss out as the scene took a jolt of resurrection.

If you miss online so much and you can't afford another ps3, then I can understand your decision, but not because your ps3 can't handle it...that's a flat out lie.

i think that you must downgrade to 3.55 cfw then use the qa toggle and install 3.55 ofw from recovery.then update to 4.31 ofw.perhaps you can install the ofw straight on 4.30 cfw but im not so sure for this so i suggest the first way
